Design of Earth Wooden Watches
With many brands today entering the wooden watches business, design of these natural timepieces has improved since the traditional wood watch originally manufactured by woodworking amateurs on their garage. The Earthwood watches designs vary mainly on the three levels: the case, the dial and the strap. You find round, oval and rectangular shapes. The pseudo-bezel like on the Raywood model gives a more sturdy look and has numerals engraved on it. While this bezel is originally designed to rotate, on this watch it’s only a decoration and it does look nice. You find different dials on Earthwood watches. Most of the time, the dial is made of the same wood as the whole watch. On other models, the dial is of a different color than the case and the band. Another design feature is the numerals designed to indicate the time. On the majority of Earthwood watches, small sticks are in the place of numbers that indicates time. This gives the watch a minimalist look. On some models, you can find the 12,3,6, and 9 numerals only. On the latest collection from Earthwood called “Aztec”, there are only small stick in the place of indices. The Aztec collection features a wooden case with a leather band, while most of the other watches are all wooden (the case and the band). The logo of the brand has also evolved since the beginning, while there was always “Earth” plus the globe as a logo positioned on the top near the 12 o’clock, now Earthwood has decided to put only the globe as logo signature which is a lot better as it’s less busy. The logo is also engraved on the wooden case-back as well as the bracelet’s claps. The glass used on these watches is scratch resistant according to Earthwood.
Earthwood watche are splash resistant, not water resistant. The difference is that you wash your hands with them or walk safely while it rains with the watch on your wrist, but certainly not swim or dive with these watches.
Earthwood watches are nicely designed wooden timepieces that are among the top watches of this category and are contributing to the new fashion of stylish wood watches which have been neglected for a long time.
